Make your body weightless

Calisthenics

When training Calisthenics, there is always a risk of injury. To counter this, there are a few things to look out for:

  • Prioritize form. Doing an exercise that is too difficult for you with bad form will lead to injury (trust me, I know best ;D).

  • Always warm up. Not warming up and immediately jumping into training is bad for your joints and muscles and can lead to injury.

  • Stay consistent. To achieve a different physique and more strength, consistency is key. Training randomly will not bring many benefits.

It can be difficult to stay motivated when you first start training, but keep going until you start to see progress. That will motivate you for the rest of your life and get you hooked on the sport.

If you are a beginner, the training plan is as follows: Train three times a week on Monday (push day + ab training), Wednesday (pull day + upper body stretching), and Friday (leg day + leg stretching). For each exercise, do 12 reps for 3 sets. For ab training, use a timer and do 40 seconds of exercise with 5 second breaks. For stretching, follow the videos.

When you feel more comfortable, increase training intensity by training six times a week.

How do I train for different goals?

It depends on what you want to achieve, if you prioritize muscle building (muscle size) you should do between 8-12 repetitions per set. If you prioritize muscle strength, 1-4 repetitions per set are optimal. And if you go for endurance, you have to go far beyond these repetitions, so 20-30 and more, but for endurance, long-time training is best, such as 1 hour of cycling or 30 minutes of jogging, etc.
